March Haircare Favourites

IMG_1809

Hello gorgeous people,

I wanted to do a product review on some of my haircare favourites this month. Just a quick FYI, when I do favourites I am not necessarily sharing my haircare or skincare routine specifically but doing a review of products I loved and thought worth sharing with you all. There are steps that I would do that might not be included in my favourites as a result because I just didn’t choose to include them in my favourites 🙂

  1. Kevin Murphy Hydrate-Me Rinse and Hydrate-Me Wash

My hair tends to be on the drier side especially when using certain hair products that are alcohol based (several drug store and brand name shampoos). If you have your hair coloured, it is especially more prone to look dull and unhealthy  while losing its natural shine and moisture if you’re not using the right products for your hair type and just buying any brand that says it provides colour protection. For awhile I was having this issue where I was trying different shampoos and conditioners that promise colour protection only to discover that my hair would be remain extremely dry , appear dull and break more easily.

This brand really solved that problem for me. Not to mention it works on any hair type especially for medium to course hair. It’s usually harder for us course haired babes to find something that truly hydrates and nourishes the hair noticeably well and this product does just that!

Kevin Murphy is a salon based product available for purchase at select few salons. This is actually how I came across it, at my local salon in Toronto, Canada. Find the product at a salon close to you

2. Bumble and Bumble Surf Infusion Spray

This is a sea-salt based hair spray for achieving those beachy surfer girl waves we all adore. And with the weather slowly getting better as we step into spring, it only makes this a must have product. Not only does this help you achieve a wind-swept beachy look it gives our hair texture  and volume (which is super awesome for someone like me who has pretty dead straight hair).

I recommend using this product on damp/ towel-dried hair especially if you have course and thick hair like me. And start scrunching that hair as you spray it in. Watch the magic happen! I wish I had a before picture but imagine dead straight hair and compare it to the pictures below – I love what it did to my hair after a few scrunches. It’s a look cute enough to rock anywhere 🙂 It leaves your hair with a fine shine – just an added bonus 😛

3. Dry Bar Sake Bomb shampoo and conditioner

Another gem of a shampoo that nourishes and moisturizes dry and damaged hair into looking healthier and more youthful. No lie folks! This shampoo has the uncanny ability to hydrate your hair without making it greasy and allowing you to have healthy looking hair without having to wash your hair every single day. I notice I need to wash my hair every other day and occasionally every two days without worrying that my hair will start to appear dull, greasy or have that unwashed look we all try to avoid.

There is a conditioner along with this product which I do not have pictured but recommended to be used together. As always conditioning your hair is a very important step after washing it. Conditioning just the ends excluding your roots is more than enough. The roots are often avoided because it tends to leave the hair with a greasy appearance.

This is available at your local Sephora. Check it out!

These were some haircare products I wanted to rave about and I am currently obsessing over. Hope ya’ll can give it a go for yourselves 🙂
